Profile

We are searching for an Avionics/Electrical Engineering Intern to join the De Havilland Engineering team for a 12-16 month internship. This opportunity will allow you to gain experience in the aerospace industry while supporting ongoing projects and various departmental functions.

Duties & Responsibilities

General Tasks:

  • Support reviewing vendor requirement specifications, design documentation including engineering drawings, modification summary packages and vendor equipment qualification reports.
  • Support Design Change Proposals.
  • Support engineering drawing and CATIA / AutoCAD computer system modeling change and review.
  • Support preparing and defining Technical Requirement Documents and Engineering Technical Assessments.
  • Support evaluating vendor technical proposals, internal Program Change Requests and Engineering Change Notices.
  • Support preparing technical reports to show compliance to the applicable certification requirements.

Specific Tasks:

  • Work on a project to provide a road map to incorporate the certification reports from the avionics upgrade STC into the De Havilland type certification standards and documents.
  • Review existing STC certification documents (Cert Plan, Test Plan, Cert report, Compliance Reports, etc.)
  • Provide a statement whether the cert documents can be used as is or a modification is required.
  • If modification is required, complete the modification, and submit to the specialists for review

Education and Professional Qualifications

  • Current engineering student (bachelor's or masters)
  • Preference to students who are completing an aerospace, Electrical or mechanical engineering degree.
