WHAT YOU WILL DO

Working closely with many internal and external stakeholders, our Domestic Restoration team will deliver the restoration of the Domestic Terminal Building, following a significant weather event that occurred earlier in 2024. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Manage and coordinate planning, design, construction, installation, testing, commissioning and turn-over activities to successfully complete the hail restoration projects at the Calgary Airport.
  • Provide leadership, direction and support to the team:
    • Plan, staff and direct work activities, distributing work assignments to team.
    • Provide mentorship and coaching to Project Managers, Project Coordinators and supporting staff.
  • Responsible for negotiations with contractors or consultants.
  • Directs the preparation of studies simulations, contract documents/ drawings, specifications, schedules and cost estimates.
  • Managing the activities of all project phases by coordinating a multitude of tasks and personnel while delivering completed projects in a fiscally responsible and timely manner.
  • Managing annual program budgets, cash flows and approving progress payments in accordance with work performed.
  • Maintain highest standards of quality assurance and is responsible for managing risk and preparing alternate plans or value engineering proposals as required.
  • Act as The Authority's main project representative with regulatory agencies, contractors, consultants, suppliers and third-party inspectors for the hail restoration project.
  • As required, function as a "Project Manager" for defined initiatives, transitions or additional support.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Professional designation such as P. Eng., PMP. P.L Eng or AAA is required.
  • 8 to 12 years' experience in engineering or project management. Proven experience in airport construction is considered an asset.
  • Proven experience in project management, including PM methodology, financial budgeting & forecasting, contracting, documentation, communication and other day to day project management activities.
  • Strong leadership skills demonstrated through previous supervisory and people management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of building construction processes with experience working in brown field projects.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to deal with a wide variety of stakeholders.
  • Business-oriented mindset with strong judgment and strategic thinking.
  • Ability to work and manage under pressure and respond to critical and/or changing priorities throughout the day.
  • Strategic Management skills inclusive of planning, financial management, analysis, business development and risk analysis are required.
  • Ability to successfully deliver multiple, high dollar value, projects/initiatives with competing priorities. Experience in projects with $25M+ budget.
  • Must be able to meet and maintain the requirements of a Safety Sensitive position, this includes pre-employment medical assessment and Drug & Alcohol testing.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC).
