Hybrid Work:
This is a hybrid work position in Calgary, Alberta and requires in-person collaboration at the WestJet Campus (22 Aerial Place NE) 3 days per week. This provides flexibility the remaining 40% of the work week. This hybrid work plan allows for critically important learning, collaboration and networking with our colleagues. Specific days in the office are agreed upon by the team.

Reporting to the Sr Manager - Group Risk & Resilience, WestJet is currently looking for a Program Manager- Operation Risk Management (ORM) to join their team.

In this position, the Program Manager - ORM will be responsible for creating, delivering and maintaining an Operational Risk and Resilience Program for WestJet to reduce the likelihood of operational risks resulting in material business disruptions.

This can be translated by developing, supporting, monitoring and reporting WestJet's overall preparedness for business disruption events.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Developing programs, strategies, policies (Business Continuity Management - BCM, Operational Risk Management - ORM), road maps, budget requirements and a variety of strategic and functional resilience projects across the enterprise.
  • Developing and managing the corporate process book of record through the annual business impact analysis (BIA) and risk assessment- where WestJet's functions, services, products and their dependencies are prioritized based on the potential for material business disruptive impacts.
  • Developing, supporting, managing and overseeing business continuity planning methodology and standards at both the functional and strategic level across the organizations. Includes all hazards and event specific plans (200+)
  • Developing, integrating and overseeing, as second line of defense, the Operational Risk Management (ORM) standards (non safety/regulated) and department reporting for all Op Risks with material impacts to business disruption (people, process, technology) with material impacts on financials, reputation, and strategy.
  • Establishing integration of business disruption planning and preparedness validation program through corporate standards and integration of key teams: Incident Management/Cybersecurity Management/Crisis Management/Technology Recovery/Bus Recovery.

Requirements

  • 6 -8 years of Risk Management experience (Risk and Environment)
  • Leadership & facilitation experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Experience with managing a Budget
  • Proficiency in MS Office product suite, and MS Project
  • Certified Risk Management Professional (CRMP), or Certified Canadian Risk Manager (CRM)
  • Certified Business Continuity Professional, Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)
