We are looking for a Receiving Inspector to join our team in Calgary, AB. The Receiving Inspector reports to the Quality Manager and will primarily be responsible for all functions associated with material receiving, ensuring the efficient and accurate intake of goods. The Receiving Inspector will perform all duties in a timely and orderly fashion, with the utmost care, integrity, and professionalism.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Safe operation of forklift and reach truck in a busy environment.
  • General receiving duties including unloading, checking, and putting away materials.
  • Ensure that incoming products meet quality and quantity requirements.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Follow standard receiving practices and work instructions to maintain high levels of inventory and location accuracy.
  • Document and identify any discrepancies and report to the Quality Inspector or team lead.
  • Accurately complete routine documentation required for receiving and inventory management.
  • Perform a variety of physically demanding duties according to standard work instructions, such as unloading goods.
  • Participate in process-specific training and adhere to all work instructions and guidelines.
  • Demonstrate and maintain a skill set capable of operating a variety of equipment used in a traditional warehouse environment, such as scanners, computers, scales, pallet jacks, and motorized material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, power jacks).
  • Demonstrate and maintain professional interpersonal skills when interacting with internal and external personnel.
  • Follow all company safety, security, and housekeeping protocols, respecting customers, company property, and equipment.
  • Proactively contribute to accident and incident prevention by completing applicable reports promptly and accurately when required.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.

Your Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 2+ years of experience working in a Warehouse/Distribution Centre, with a focus on receiving and inventory management.
  • Certification in operating material handling equipment (MHE) required (e.g., forward reach, dock stocker, clamp, single/double walkie, turret, order picker).
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs repetitively.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (verbal and written).
  • Proven ability to work well both as part of a team and independently.
  • Capable of working in a fast-paced environment with time-sensitive deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and safety regulations within the business unit.
