WHAT WILL YOU DO

Reporting to the Operations Manager, Ground Transportation & Parking (GT&P), the Specialist leads project delivery across parking facilities, terminal curbside, roadways, taxi dispatch, TNC staging, commercial vehicles, and the car rental centre. Additionally, the Specialist analyzes data, supports financial planning, collaborates with stakeholders, and drives service improvements, aligning GT&P the airport strategy and representing YYC in industry engagements.

WHAT ARE SOME OF THE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and Support Key Projects: Actively contribute to the successful planning, execution, and completion of major projects, including Car Rental Study, Car Rental Operators, Virtual Queuing Implementation, Parking Equipment Commissioning, Surface Lot and Parkade Restoration, Revenue Management System, TNC Staging Lot Enhancements and Janitorial RFP.
  • Serve as the GT&P representative on cross-functional project teams, ensuring department priorities and operational requirements are reflected in project planning and execution.
  • Facilitate collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, including finance, engineering, IT, operations, legal, and commercial teams, to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Work in coordination with the Project Delivery team to lead GT&P capital projects, from concept development through implementation.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain to support the full RFP/RFQ lifecycle
  • Develop and present business cases to leadership, working groups, and external stakeholders to secure funding and approvals for operational and capital investments.
  • In all projects and activities, ensure Regulatory Compliance & Accessibility Standards:
  • Design and evaluate operational strategies that enhance the efficiency, safety, and user experience of ground transportation and parking services.
  • Continuously assess and improve vendor-led operational processes to enhance efficiency, service quality, and user satisfaction.
  • Leverage data insights to improve operational efficiency, identify revenue opportunities, and enhance the overall customer experience.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, industry stakeholders, and internal departments to foster collaboration and align business objectives.
  • Provide cross-functional support to GT&P team members, including coverage for colleagues during vacation or high-demand periods.
  • Participate in emergency response efforts, ensuring GT&P operations align with airport-wide crisis management protocols.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BRING

  • The ability to gain and maintain a RAIC (RAIC Program and Application Information)
  • Diploma in a related field such as Transportation Management, Logistics, Business Administration or other relevant field.
  • 3 to 6 years of relevant professional experience in areas such as parking operations, property management, facility operations, ground transportation, logistics, or fleet management.
  • Familiarity with Parking Access Control Systems (PARCS), enforcement technologies, security technologies (Genetec) and ground transportation business and operations including Taxi, Rideshare, Buses, Shuttles.
  • Experience working in an airport, municipality, or commercial parking environment.
  • Strong decision-making skills with a sense of urgency for achieving operational excellence.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize tasks effectively under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Skilled in resolving conflicts and managing disputes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to propose solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills, including digital, verbal, and presentation capabilities.
  • Capable of handling sensitive and confidential information.
  • Proven skills in negotiation, presentation, and influencing across functions.
  • Strong business insight with a focus on improvement, problem-solving, and trend analysis.
  • Strong communicator capable of shaping opinions and decisions.
  • Proficiency in analyzing and interpreting technical data and creating accurate reports.
  • Ability to lead projects and influence stakeholders as a subject matter expert.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License.

WHAT OPTIONAL ELEMENTS SUPPORT YOUR APPLICATION (all are assets)

  • Bilingual in English or French.
  • Industry certifications such as Parking Management Professional (PMC), Certified Parking Professional (CPP) and Certified Administrator of Public Parking (CAPP) would be an asset.
