Position Summary

Reporting to the Manager, Product Change & Development, the Supervisor of Product Change and Development (PCD) will oversee day-to-day activities within the project management and product development team, ensuring successful execution of aerospace projects from concept through delivery. This role requires a balance of technical expertise, leadership, and strategic planning to support and enhance product development processes while maintaining adherence to budget, schedule, and quality requirements.

The ideal candidate will work closely with the Manager of Product Change and Development, assisting in guiding the team, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and fostering a collaborative work environment to meet project milestones effectively.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supervise and monitor the progress of multiple aerospace projects, ensuring they are on schedule, within scope, and within budget. Will also be required to execute on a select number of projects as defined by the Manager of PCD
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to project managers, engineers, and cross-functional teams, promoting high performance and collaboration
  • Assist in developing project plans, schedules, and deliverables, ensuring proper coordination across all functional departments (engineering, design, quality, etc.)
  • Ensure optimal allocation of resources (personnel, budget, materials) to meet project needs, identifying potential resource gaps
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, ensuring timely resolution of issues and maintain project continuity
  • Support and implement continuous improvement initiatives for project management and product development processes to enhance efficiency and quality
  • Act as a point of contact for stakeholders (internal and external), ensuring timely and transparent communication on project status, challenges, and milestones
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant aerospace industry standards, regulations (such as TCCA, FAA or EASA), and internal quality systems
  • Ensure accurate project documentation and timely reporting, including status updates, progress reports, and post-project reviews

Education & Experience

  • Degree in Engineering with strong consideration for Aerospace, Mechanical or a related field. Master's degree or PMP certification is a plus
  • 5+ years of experience in project management or product development, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role, ideally within the aerospace industry

Skills

  • Experience with aerospace project management tools and methodologies (e.g., PMBOK, Agile, Lean, Waterfall)
  • Strong understanding of aerospace product lifecycle, design, and development processes
  • Strong technical background in aerospace systems, design, and engineering practices
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team to achieve project goals
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to addressing project challenges
  • Strong attention to detail while maintaining a big-picture perspective on project objectives
  • Advanced knowledge in MS Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Work Location & Conditions of Employment

  • Candidate will be required to live in Calgary, Alberta
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Candidate will be required to work in the office full time in a collaborative, and innovative environment
  • Candidate may be required to travel at short notice
