About this position:

Reporting to: Senior Manager, Purchasing, Stores & Inventory

*Non-bargaining

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Must be able to perform, but not be limited to, the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Responsible for training and orientation of staff;
  • Scheduling of staff at all locations, and management of overtime hours;
  • Auditing of inventory & processes;
  • Auditing of Stores operations at all bases including during shifts after regular business hours;
  • Participate in process & policy development/change;
  • Responsible for invoice approvals for shipping/customs;
  • Ensures policies and procedures are enforced and communicated to staff;
  • Responsible for acceptance of aeronautical products for proper certification and traceability;
  • Promote and maintain good relations with suppliers and other departments;
  • Participate in the process of staff hiring, appraisals, and related issues;
  • Assist in development of the annual budget for Stores, maintains budget goals and provides variance explanations as appropriate;
  • Oversee and coordinate daily departmental operations ensuring safe work practices and adherence to policies and procedures;
  • Support departmental team approach to fulfill Company needs;
  • Provide leadership to Stores staff through supervision and feedback, assist in recruitment, evaluation etc;
  • Availability for after hours on call as required (i.e. nights, weekends);
  • Frequent travel to other bases;
  • Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Include, but not limited to, the following minimum skills and qualifications:

  • Two (2) year Postsecondary education or equivalent work experience in a related field;
  • Two (2) years experience related to aerospace materials management/purchasing/supply chain management or comparable industry experience;
  • Demonstrated negotiation, budget development and management skills;
  • Possess strong computers skills (Word, Excel), experience with Trax an asset;
  • Strong organizations skills and ability to effectively prioritize and multi-task;
  • Previous supervisory experience in a unionized environment preferred;
  • Self motivated and able to work independently and or as a member of a team;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with experience dealing with internal and external customers;
  • Ability to communicate in Inuktut a definite asset;
  • Ability to obtain and retain a Restricted Area Pass in accordance with the Airport Restricted Area Access Clearance Program regulated by Transport Canada.
