JOB OVERVIEW

The Project Management Lead reports to the QA and Safety Manager and is responsible to manage large aviation projects across the KFA Organization. This includes, but is not limited to, heavy maintenance projects, flight operations projects, engineering projects, and new customer introduction projects. The Project Management Lead is responsible for integration management of the project across all departments to ensure the success of the project. The Project Management Lead will also be responsible for supporting leadership through process analysis and refinement of Project Management practices at KFA.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage large, complex aviation projects across the KFA organization.
  • Maintain and update project documentation, ensuring compliance with regulations, industry standards, company policies, and professional best practices.
  • Provide consistent updates of ongoing projects to the Senior Manager, BD and Director of Mtce.
  • Track and report project status relative to the approved activities.
  • Conduct qualitative risk management of projects.
  • Identify, communicate and manage issues and risks to mitigate impacts to project.
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
  • Communicate effectively to stakeholders in various positions inside and outside the organization.
  • Analyze processes and strategies within PM Framework to identify opportunities for improved efficiencies.
  • Trend monitor ongoing maintenance projects to track compliance to procedures, identify training opportunities, and develop case studies.
  • Work with various departments to refine and improve procedures identified in the Project Management Manual.
  • Work closely with the Supply Chain Management and Shops functions to ensure material supplies meet project needs.
  • Lead project and customer induction meetings.
  • Communicate daily planning and resolve issues/recovery actions with the Hangar Operations Managers.
  • Provide leadership and direction to direct reports, including providing performance feedback and completion of annual P3 reviews.
  • Mentor and coach junior members of the team.
  • This position is expected to be 100% onsite as regular interaction with maintenance staff is essential.
  • Travel to other site locations is required.
  • Other tasks assigned by the Manager, Quality and Safety.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Understanding of aircraft maintenance planning.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in related field.
  • 10 + years of experience in Project Management.
  • Formal Project Management training completed (i.e. courses, certification, education).
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Canadian Aviation Regulations.
  • Knowledge of PMBOK principles and approach.
  • Project Management experience in an Aerospace related environment is considered an asset.
  • Proficient computer skills: MS Excel, MS Office, MS SharePoint, & MS Project.

SALARY

The wage band is KF level 11, $82,419 - $103,024 annually.
