Securiguard is currently accepting applications to join our team of Airport Security Professional - Class 5 Drivers License at Vancouver International Airport with seasonal roles starting in March 2025 and continuing through to October 2025.

The Airport Security Professional is responsible for ensuring safety and security of persons both airside and inside the Terminal and compliance with Aviation Security protocols. Due to the training and clearance requirements for this role we will be commencing interviews over the next two months.

Duties includes:

  • Escorting individuals to the Restricted Area of the airport
  • Checking documents of entitlement
  • Notify the Airside Safety Officer & Terminal Duty Officer when entering the airfield and when leaving the airfield
  • Notify the Airside Safety Officer of any safety and/or security incidents (regardless of severity) that occur on the airfield
  • Ensuring that visual contact is maintained while escorting individuals
  • Ensuring that each vehicle accessing the Restricted Area has valid Vehicle Permit and/or Temporary Vehicle Permit

Requirements

  • Must be comfortable with working outside.
  • Available to work days and evenings (graveyards)
  • Available to work Weekends and Holidays
  • 8-12 Hours per Shift, depending on requirements of client
  • Valid Class 5 British Columbia Driver's License
  • Clean Drivers Abstract
  • Valid Security License within the Province of British Columbia

Clearance Requirements (AVOP & RAIC) & Training

In this role, candidates will be required to obtain a Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC), which involves a thorough background check covering the past five years of Canadian history. As this process can be time-consuming, it will begin immediately upon selection into the program.

Additionally, you must secure an Airside Vehicle Operator's Permit (AVOP), which certifies you to safely operate vehicles within airside areas. Obtaining the AVOP involves both written and practical exams. Successful candidates will also undergo training in Aviation Security and, upon passing, will receive AVSEC certification.
