Pacific Coastal Airlines is looking for a permanent full-time Corporate Training Manager. This is a hybrid position based out of Richmond, BC at the South Terminal Airport.

The Manager, Corporate Training position is responsible for overseeing and developing training programs within the company, ensuring they meet regulatory and operational requirements. The role involves maintaining a focus on safety management and ensuring that employees are trained to perform their jobs safely and competently. This position works closely with leaders and instructors to advance training opportunities across the organization. The role reports to the Director of Corporate Safety, Security and Quality Assurance with accountabilities to Employee Services.

The successful candidate for this role will be a goal-oriented and pro-active self-starter, capable of working in a team environment as well as independently, with minimal supervision.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain training programs that align with safety management systems and meet regulatory requirements. Ensure the effectiveness of all training programs and instructors.
  • Establish corporate training standards, ensure compliance with Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARS), and audit training programs for quality assurance.
  • Create and manage an integrated corporate training plan for the year.
  • Develop engaging, effective training programs that support company service and safety standards. Coach and mentor instructors on effective training delivery and lesson plan development.
  • Conduct training needs assessments and adjust training programs as necessary to meet operational demands.
  • Ensure proper training facilities and explore innovative uses of technology for computer-based training.
  • Maintain comprehensive training records that meet or exceed regulatory standards.
  • Cultivate a respectful and engaging training environment aligned with the company's Vision and Values.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education or equivalent experience in fields such as Education, Communications, Organizational Behavior, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a leadership role focused on training and instructional design.
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS), particularly Dayforce, is an asset.
  • Airline industry experience is preferred.

  • Effective teaching methodologies and tools.
  • Applicable Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARS) and federal standards.
  • Industry best practices and trends in learning and development.
  • Advanced computer skills (MS Office) and quick adaptability to new technologies.
  • Analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and client service skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Public speaking and presentation expertise.

Abilities:

  • Ability to inspire, engage, and motivate individuals.
  • Coaching and training skills, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
  • Maintain professionalism and tact at all times.
