At our facility in Southport, Manitoba, we support the Royal Canadian Airforce (RCAF) by providing state of the art Pilot Training.

JOB OVERVIEW

The Deputy GBTS Manager reports to the GBTS Manager and is responsible for assisting in providing oversight and management of the Training Information Management Systems (TIMS). This includes the coordination of changes to the enhancements/changes to the courseware and documentation used by the Department of National Defence (DND).

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES

The Deputy GBTS Manager position is responsible for the following key areas:

  • Courseware Management:
    1. Technical responsibility for development and integrations of the courseware, training equipment, and TIMS
    2. Coordinate required flying training equipment and courseware changes based on requirements provided by the MFO (Manager of Flying Operations)
    3. Courseware and software testing and validation
    4. Development, management, and delivery of training solutions
    5. Apply systematic set of analytical tools to identify and remedy any gaps in training
  • Participate with liaison between software companies and Allied Wings:
    1. Ensure all technical issues are promptly communicated between organizations and issues are tracked and validated
  • Participate in the Training Program Improvement Committee. (TPIC):
  • Delivery and administration of the Course Critique Program:
    1. Ensure that Training Administration staff issues surveys to students in a timely manner
    2. Review and deliver course survey results for course analysis reports
    3. Provide statistical analysis reports as requested by the GBTS Manager, MFO, and Site Manager
  • Assist in audits, inspections and internal reviews as required
  • Act as GBTS Manager as required
  • Act as Project Manager at the discretion of the GBTS Manager.
  • Additional tasks as assigned by the GBTS Manager

REQUIRED CERTIFICATION, EDUCATION, OR EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 5 years relevant work experience
  • Degree from accredited university or college in Project or Business Management, or in Education
  • Experience in instructional design or curriculum review
  • Knowledge of aviation/military terminology preferred
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Works and Government Services Clearance
  • Advanced computer skills in MS Office programs
  • Ability to travel within and outside of Canada
  • Valid passport and driver's license
  • Consistently demonstrate a higher level of competency in the following areas:

  • Pilot's license an asset
