The Cormorant Mid-Life Upgrade (CMLU) Program is a comprehensive helicopter life extension program which will extend the life expectancy of the CH-149 Cormorant to at least 2042. This position maintains responsibility for the supervision and coordination of Production personnel activities. Under the direction of the Aircraft Production Manager, this individual will carry out activities to monitor adherence to contractual requirements, applicable specifications, quality procedures and work instructions within the CMLU production team.

What You Will Do:

  • Perform technical work package reviews and fact finding.
  • Support production, facilities, and infrastructure planning.
  • Support analysis of production personnel requirements and technical qualifications.
  • Direct supervision of production workforce.
  • Co-ordinate activities to ensure satisfaction of required work schedules and priorities.
  • Mentor and develop Technicians qualification / authorizations.
  • Maintain departmental records and files.
  • Draft reports and correspondence.
  • Support Program Risk Management through the identification of risks and mitigation options.
  • Liaise with all IMP Depts and the customer on technical matters as required.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Aircraft Production Manager
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement focused activities.

What You Will Bring:

  • Graduate Transport Canada Recognized Aircraft Maintenance Program or equivalent DND training
  • Must be conversant with Aerospace terminology, understanding of drawings, aircraft and aircraft systems and Aircraft Maintenance Policies and Procedures.
  • Able to collaborate with team members while operating in a fast-moving and dynamic work environment while possessing good self-discipline and an ability to work independently when required.
  • Be comfortable working under pressure to meet strict deadlines.
  • Able to envision how Production work can/will be done to enhance planning efforts and maximize efficiency.
  • Experience working with the AW101/CH149 Helicopter or in an aircraft manufacturing environment is an asset.
  • Experience and knowledge of Quality Assurance Procedures related to AS9100 standards is required.
  • At least 5 years of experience in aircraft maintenance, overhaul, and manufacture with 2 years of experience in a supervisory role preferred.
  • Must be able to use a personal computer and be familiar with using Microsoft Office.
  • Must be eligible to meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Secret Level II Security Clearance through PSPC- Contract Security Program, and Transport Canada RAIC clearance.
  • You must complete a period of training of up to 10 weeks which requires International Travel.
