The Mechanical Structural Engineer will provide the necessary support for maintaining structures and structurally related systems to meet the demands of the operational fleet. This support also extends to interior components, evacuation systems doors and windows. To achieve this, the incumbent will utilize key technical DND processes such as Corrective maintenance Program Change (CMPC), Alternate Part Approval Form (APAF) Aircraft Inspection Change Proposal (AICP) and Aircraft Modification Approval Form (AMAF). An additional function is to provide engineering support to the maintenance and repair of airframe structures and mechanical systems and be involved with engineering projects inclusive of modification and design. Responsible to the Engineering Manager, this position will liaise with various interrelated stakeholders such as the Department of National Defense (DND), Engineering groups, Supply Chain Management, Repair and Overhaul, Integrated Logistics Support and Configuration/Data Management. The incumbent will be expected to attain a sufficient Airworthiness Approval Authorization Status to perform functions within a DND Acceptable Technical Organization based on knowledge, experience and training.
