WE'RE LOOKING FOR A PRODUCTION PLANNER

Location: Fort Erie, ON

The Production Planner is responsible for demand planning and managing production orders and associated activity in SAP in accordance with AS9100 QMS, TCCA and Airbus requirements. The Production Planner is responsible for generating manufacturing routing, entering/modifying standard operations time, entering work center details. The Production Planner is responsible for reviewing Sales Order Demands, including Forecast, and Master Production Schedule to develop level loaded production schedule in collaboration with Master Production scheduler and related departments such as Production, Quality and SCM. In addition, the Production Planner assists with aircraft completions, through work orders as well as creating and maintaining routings, BOM's and Master Material Data for the formation of manufactured components, new helicopter completion parts and installations.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Production Order Management

  • Using SAP, generate production orders to fulfil the demands (Forecasted, Customer Orders or Safety Stock) based on MPS and MRP data.

  • Perform order maintenance activity such as routing amendment, scheduling and rescheduling, BOM modification, and addressing labour booking issues

  • Monitor MRP data and identify material shortage issues, coordinate with production and purchasing department to address impact to schedule.

  • Print and distribute work order packages, ensuring quality requirements are adhered to. Maintaining routings and BOM's in making sure they are at the latest revision and structured to meet Production and Quality requirements.

  • Work with Manufacturing Engineering and Quality teams to address MID, MCR, NCM, and QNs.

Scheduling

  • Develop Production schedule in SAP ensuring dependent and independent demands are planned to available capacity. Identify bottleneck work centres and level load the shop.

  • Distribute daily, weekly and monthly production schedule to Production teams. Perform re-iterative activity on the schedule based on actual work completed.

  • Monitor Capacity vs. Load data, track and keep record of schedule vs actual data. Escalate schedule deviations to Production and Customer Service Representative Teams.


Final Assembly Line Support

  • Assist with A/C completion by issuing and expediting work orders that are generated by project ATP (Authorization to proceed). This includes tracking shortages over the period of completion of project, and producing reports to support the FAL activity

  • Create and maintain routing and BOM's for the creation of manufactured components, kit, aircraft completion parts and installations triggered by drawings, service bulletins, installation instructions, MID's , MCR's and Aircraft Manuals, etc. This includes reviewing and setting Master Material Data for all manufactured parts.

  • Assist Program Management and/or Pricing to calculate quotes/estimates or verify costs for manufactured components and/or installations.

  • Analyze material and labour costs as well as lead-times associated with manufacturing parts, assemblies, kits and installations and make recommended adjustments and change where required

EDUCATION & JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education:

  • College Diploma in Business/Operations Management Program, Manufacturing/Mechanical Technician, or Technologists Program

  • MRP/ERP training/experience

  • APICS/CAPICS and/or CPIM Certification would be an asset

  • Aerospace experience an asset

Experience:

  • 2 year experience working in an AS9100, ISO 9001 or TCCA manufacturing environment

  • Ability to work independently and under general supervision with various departments and transversal teams

  • Strong communication skills (both written and oral)
