The Manager, Training is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive training and knowledge management programs that empower frontline cargo, ramp, and airport teams. This role ensures that employees have the skills, knowledge, and tools to perform their duties effectively, promoting operational excellence, safety, and compliance. By aligning training strategies with business goals and fostering a culture of continuous learning, the Manager will drive performance improvements, enhance team capabilities, and support the organization's long-term success.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:

Must be able to perform, but not be limited to, the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Lead Training and Development Programs - Oversee the design, development, and implementation of comprehensive training programs for cargo, ramp, and airport operations teams, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with Key Stakeholders - Partner with departments such as Cargo Operations, Quality, Continuous Improvement, and Customer Relations to identify training needs, prioritize initiatives, and ensure training aligns with operational and business objectives.
  • Manage Knowledge Sharing Systems - Implement and maintain knowledge management systems that promote the seamless sharing of information and best practices across departments, ensuring that teams have access to up-to-date and accurate resources.
  • Supervise Training Teams - Lead, mentor, and support the training team ensuring they have the tools, skills, and guidance needed to deliver effective training programs across various learning formats (e.g., in-person, online, self-paced).
  • Monitor and Evaluate Training Effectiveness - Analyze training data and performance metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of training programs, making adjustments as necessary to improve content, delivery, and outcomes.
  • Ensure Compliance and Safety Standards - Ensure that all training materials and sessions adhere to industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies, reducing risks and enhancing compliance across operational teams.
  • Optimize Training Resources and Costs-Manage the allocation of resources, budget, and logistics for training programs, balancing cost-effectiveness with the quality and reach of learning initiatives.
  • Foster a Culture of Continuous Learning-Promote a culture of continuous improvement by regularly updating training programs based on feedback, emerging industry trends, and evolving operational needs, encouraging ongoing employee development.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Include, but not limited to, the following minimum skills and qualifications:

  • Completion of a post-secondary degree in Adult Education, Business Administration or another related field
  • 5+ years of experience with needs analysis, content development, delivery, program implementation and change management/communication
  • Ability to conduct training needs analysis, interpret and communicate the data and deliver solutions to address the gaps
  • Knowledge of instructional design methodology
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and develop partnerships
  • Ability to adapt to the needs of the work environment, juggle and manage competing tasks and demands and deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of the Learning Management System SumTotal considered an asset.
  • Proven track record of excelling in performance management and fostering team development.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute short and long-term plans.
  • Skilled problem solver with the ability to identify and address issues early on.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Capability to manage multiple programs and deliverables effectively.
