The Landing Gear Market specializes in the design, qualification, manufacture and repair and overhaul of landing gears and flight critical components to a customer base that extends from the OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) to the Operators in both the commercial and military markets.

Summary of position:

The Calibration Technician is responsible for testing, calibrating, and maintaining precision instruments and equipment to ensure accurate measurements and compliance with industry standards. This role involves conducting routine inspections, troubleshooting, and adjusting instruments to maintain optimal performance. The Calibration Technician will document calibration procedures, results, and any necessary adjustments, working closely with quality assurance and production teams to ensure equipment reliability. Strong attention to detail, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of calibration processes are essential. The ideal candidate will have experience in calibration within a manufacturing or laboratory environment and a commitment to maintaining the highest levels of accuracy and precision.

Main responsibilities:

• Carry out all in-house gauge calibrations.
• Ensure calibrated gauging available when needed by Production & Outside Processors.
• Maintain the gauge recall system, including documentation.
• Review technical data to create list of gauges required for jobs.
• Quote and purchase new gauging within budget constraints.
• Carry out gauge repairs.
• Maintain supplier and customer gauge loans.
• Trouble shoot and develop solutions for measuring and gauging issues in QC and Production.
• Locate gauges due for calibration.
• Maintain metrology lab.
• Maintain Calibration budget.
• Research and implement appropriate new measurement technology.
• Train employees in measuring techniques.
• Maintain QC stamp issue / recall program.
• Development of gauge recall software.
• Implement 5S in metrology lab.
• Assist with dimensional inspections.
• Other duties as assigned by leadership.

Qualifications:

• 1-3 years experience measuring and calibrating gauges, vernier, micrometer.
• In-depth knowledge metrology specifications and practical application.
• Advanced technical drawing interpretation.
• Practical knowledge of Gauge R&R and Measurement Uncertainty calculations.
• Practical understanding of effects of environmental conditions on measurement.
• Knowledge of threads
