The Organization

De Havilland Aircraft of Canada is excited to announce the addition of a group of highly experienced aerospace professionals to our organization! Mid Canada Mod Centre (MC2) and Avionics Design Services (ADS) joined De Havilland in October 2023, creating additional capacity and expanding our expertise in both avionics design services and upgrades as well as maintenance and modifications.

In October of 2023 De Havilland Aircraft of Canada announced the acquisition of Mid Canada Mod Centre (MC2). Mid Canada Mod Centre is comprised of industry leading experts focused on ensuring commercial, charter, special mission and business aircraft operators are equipped with flight decks that provide safety and efficiency. As a premier Canadian aviation maintenance shop, the team of experts works to define avionics requirements to develop and certify solutions that fit each operator's individual need.

Profile

We are searching for a highly motivated, hands-on professional to fill the position of Airworthiness Coordinator in Mississauga, Ontario. In this role you will develop/coordinate airworthiness certification documentation and liaise with the company Delegates, with the external Design Approval Representatives, with Transport Canada and foreign certification airworthiness authorities' engineers and technical coordinators in support of ADS design approval projects.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • DAO Administration:
    • Coordinate with TCCA administrator
    • Coordinate with TCCA OPI
    • Operate NDWL (TCCA database) and EASA portal
    • Open projects, upload data and documents, create certificates in NDWL
    • Create DAO certification documents
    • Exercise data control using ADS DAO database
    • Create Submit and coordinate task requests for TCCA LOI and LOS
    • Maintain priority list
    • Coordinate the foreign validation of DAO approvals
    • Create applications in EASA portal for EASA validation of DAO approvals
  • Management
    • Maintain foreign approval open projects. (Monthly spreadsheet)
    • Maintain and submit below LOI & LOS records (Monthly spreadsheet)
    • Oversee and check all (s)STC projects for completion and accuracy
    • Oversee overdue and missing reports for completion.
    • Auditing (s)STC projects for omissions and errors
  • Data Control
    • Issue project and document numbers and log into records using database tool
    • Issue and manage drawings and data and log into records using database tool
    • Use database tools to control the records accuracy
    • Deliver customer data package following issuance of approvals
    • Customer support related to missing data

Education and Professional Qualifications

  • Aeronautical/Aerospace Engineering Degree or Aeronautical Engineering Technology diploma.
  • Successful completion of the Transport Canada Aircraft Certification Specialty course would be an asset.

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of two (2) years progressive aerospace experience in airworthiness and certification administration
  • Familiarity with Transport Canada AWM 523, 525, 527 and 529 and similar rules under FAA and EASA authority and familiarity with aircraft certification documents.
  • Familiarity with database operation
  • Advanced user knowledge of MS Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, Access). Use of Corel -WordPerfect would be an asset. Familiarity with CAD software.

  • Work independently or as part of a team
  • Initiative, a strong sense of responsibility, isolated situations might require working overtime
