Profile

The 16-month engineering student will work within the airworthiness engineering department, supporting the coordination of the aircraft certification and continuing airworthiness activities within the company and between the company and the airworthiness authorities (primarily Transport Canada).

Working with our Airworthiness Engineering Specialists, the individual will ensure that the department/company deliverables and tools effectively support the company's obligations under the applicable regulatory requirements.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support to the Continuing Airworthiness Corrective Action process, including risk assessment and corrective action plan development, in accordance with the established procedures, the management of Service Difficulty Reporting investigations and governance process, and Coordinate certification approval of design changes.
  • Complete reports and assessment information for service difficulty reporting investigations
  • Modernize the current Airworthiness Directive tracking database
  • Support development and modernization of Airworthiness databases, Processes& Procedures and software tools
  • Develop risk assessment and corrective action plans in accordance with established procedures
  • Coordinate certification approval of design changes internally and potentially with regulatory airworthiness authorities
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

Education and Professional Qualifications

  • Current aerospace engineering student (bachelor's or masters)
  • Preference to students who have completed at least 2 years of undergraduate education
  • Experience
  • Familiarization with TCCA/FAA/EASA regulations and standards related to design approval
  • Experience with Microsoft Office

Skills

  • Programming experience is an asset, but not required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational & time management skills
