About the role

Specific Job Description
The chosen applicant will be responsible for conducting avionics maintenance, repair and modification on the RCAF CC130J Hercules Fleet operated and maintained at 8 Wing Trenton. This position will work directly with the Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Contractor Field Office (CFO) at Trenton.

Responsibilities

  • Detect aircraft avionics problems and adjust/repair systems resolving all defects/unserviceabilities on avionics systems, including disassembly, replacement and reassembly; and related systems support such as disturbed systems checks and avionics functional checks. according to specifications, technical drawings, manuals and procedures;
  • Repair and overhaul of aircraft avionics systems;
  • Install or modify avionics;
  • Perform routine maintenance;
  • Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor; and
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures

What you bring to the role

Security Clearance

  • Must be able to obtain and possess clearance of Secret
  • Must pass the Canadian Controlled Goods Program ("CGP") Security Assessment Application; and meet International Traffic in Arms Regulations ("ITAR") requirements if required.


Required skills, qualifications and experience
  • Must meet one of the following eligibility streams:
  1. a graduate of recognized aircraft maintenance program,
    1. hold a current Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) license, or
    2. be qualified as an Avionics Technician (AVS) with the Canadian Forces, or
    3. be a graduate of an equivalent foreign military/civilian basic trade-training program.
  2. Completed C130J Hercules type course and qualified on-type;
  3. Hold a current C130J Hercules endorsement/authorization.
  • Basic to detailed knowledge of aircraft avionics systems including but not limited to communications, navigational, radar, data management, instrument and electrical power distribution systems.
  • Must be capable of reading and interpreting technical documentation such as technical manuals, drawings and technical data packages, engineering dispositions and instructions and associated data.
  • Must demonstrate a compliant and skilled level of proficiency, which is acquired by course or on the job training and practical experience, for authorization of Maintenance Release (DND - Level A), and must demonstrate a detailed understanding of airworthiness requirements for authorization to perform airworthiness functions.
  • Must have a valid Ontario Driver's License.
  • Ability to travel and work on or off-site Mobile Repair Parties.
Ability to work shift work as required.
