ABOUT US

Since 1978 Air Inuit has been providing scheduled, charter, cargo, and emergency air transportation services in Nunavik and beyond, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Collectively owned by the Inuit of Nunavik, through the Makivik Corporation, the airline operates a fleet of over 35 aircraft ranging from a Twin Otter 300 Series to a Boeing 737 200C, 300 and 800 and employs over 1000 employees in one of the most challenging flight environments.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise all operations related to cargo at the station;
  • Implement the cargo procedures, inspections and company policies;
  • Participate in the training of personnel under his/her supervision;
  • Provide outstanding customer service;
  • Participate in cargo operations in collaboration with the Commercial Operations Department;
  • Supervise the ground activities of subcontractor personnel to ensure compliance with all safety measures and procedures in force;
  • Perform any other tasks required and required by the company to ensure the efficiency of the operation.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Secondary 5 or equivalent;
  • Ability to communicate in at least 2 of the following languages: Inuktitut, French, English;
  • Reliable, punctual and able to work under pressure in a physically challenging environment;
  • Hold a valid driving license;
  • Experienced as a cargo agent and experienced in the supervision of airline operations;
  • Be certified for the transportation of dangerous goods;
  • Knowledge of Safety Management System, an asset;
  • Experienced in driving forklifts;
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook;
  • Available to travel occasionally to Nunavik Stations;
  • Available to travel occasionally for training;
  • Available to work evenings, nights and weekends;
  • If the position is not filled locally, the candidate will be considered as having no specific base.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Rotational position - 2 weeks of work followed by 2 weeks off.
  • If the position is not filled locally, airfare from Montreal and room and board will be included.

COMPENSATION

  • Compensation and benefits are determined in accordance with corporate policy
  • Annual salary starting at $48,694.
  • Northern Allowance $10,784 (if applicable)
