Purpose

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced person to join our MRO team. As a Project Engineer, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and coordinating various MRO and manufacturing projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest industry standards.

The Project Engineer is managing the technical scope for product development projects, R&D projects and technical capability deployment. The role will also require the candidate to support/lead proposals (RFIs/RFQs/RFPs) for new business, especially in cases where engineering development is the key proposed value to the customer.

Objectives:

  • Managing engineering projects (MRO/manufacturing/R&D/Engineering Services) from RFQs/RFPs to delivery.
  • Develop, maintain and track M1's technological roadmap.
  • Collaborate with the business development team to support/lead proposals identified in their capture plans.

Main responsibilities

R&D:

  • Manage and execute R&D projects in support of M1's technological roadmap.
  • Plan and control execution as per project schedule/budget.
  • Prepare business cases for new development opportunities in support of the strategic plan.

RFPs and RFQs:

  • Prepare SOW and estimates during RFP/RFQ/RFI for new and existing clients.
  • Support the proposal team to deliver winning bids in budget/schedule.
  • Support the business development team in establishing capabilities list for capture plans in key business segments.

Project Management:

  • Perform regular reviews of project status with managers.
  • Monitor earned value of the project evolution (budget spent vs work completed).
  • Define recovery actions, identify risks, critical path and mitigate impact.
  • Monitor completion of the project up to invoicing stage, gather feedback from the customer based on service provided and produce post-mortem when required.

Your ideal background:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Business Administration or any other related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience in aerospace.
  • Customer service oriented.
  • Ability to multitask and work with limited supervision.
  • Successful experience in Project Management with proven interpersonal, organizational and presentation skills.
  • Strong knowledge of MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul) a very big asset.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bilingual French and English.
