Summary of position:

The main role of the maintenance supervisor will be to plan and coordinate all the physical and human resources necessary to carry out maintenance work on the building and equipment, in a context of optimizing efficiency. He will also have to develop intervention strategies to prevent breakage or deterioration of resources through the development of the preventive maintenance program. In addition, he will manage different projects, from the development of concepts to the execution of the work. The ideal candidate will demonstrate good judgment, rigor, strong teamwork skills and be comfortable interacting with employees at all levels of the organization.

Main responsibilities:

• Participate in human resources management activities for maintenance employees (administration of the collective agreement, performance management, training, work schedule management, health and safety, etc.);
• Advocate compliance with standards and regulations relating to occupational health and safety within the team;
• Receive work requests and emergency calls, evaluate the work and complete the necessary and relevant information for its completion;
• Plan and coordinate all work and activities of the maintenance department from the issuance of work requests (Interal) until the final completion of the work in collaboration with the maintenance coordinator;
• Ensure the management and development of data and functionalities of the maintenance management software (Interal) in collaboration with the maintenance coordinator;
• Organize and control the inventory of spare parts, participate in the choice of parts and make purchasing requisitions for materials and equipment based on technical data, ensuring its availability on time;
• Manage projects jointly with the different departments and ensure the appropriate selection of new equipment;
• Inform service requesters about the progress of the work or the date of final completion of repairs or modifications;
• Liaise between the maintenance department and operations in the execution of its functions and participate in planning meetings in collaboration with the maintenance coordinator.

Qualifications:

• College or vocational diploma combined with relevant management experience
• Relevant experience in project management and personnel management in a unionized environment;
• Demonstrates great flexibility and an ability to adapt to different situations;
• Ability to motivate and mobilize employees towards a common goal;
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills;
• Ability to promote teamwork and employee accountability;
• Focused on results and dedicated to continuous process improvement;
• Experience working with maintenance management software (CMMS) is an asset for this position;
• Bilingualism is an asset.
