ABOUT US

Since 1978, Air Inuit has been providing scheduled, charter, cargo, and emergency air transportation services in Nunavik and beyond, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Collectively owned by the Inuit of Nunavik, through the Makivvik Corporation, the airline operates a fleet of over 35 aircraft ranging from a Twin Otter 300 Series to a Boeing 737 200C, 300 and 800 and employs over 1000 employees in one of the most challenging flight environments.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure passenger comfort and safety.
  • Perform regular duties as outlined in the Air Inuit Flight Attendant Manual.
  • Participate in the company's safety management system.
  • Perform all duties and responsibilities related to passenger safety and comfort, as described in the approved Flight Attendant Manual.
  • Ensure that all announcements and demonstrations are properly made prior to take-off/landing and at any other time deemed necessary.
  • Plan, direct and control on-board services.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Chief Flight Attendant.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Valid passport
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Fluent in French and English. Knowledge of Inuktitut is an asset.
  • Have worked with the public for at least one year.
  • Available to complete and pass the Transport Canada approved six (6) week training program in Montreal.
  • Available to work days, evenings, nights and weekends, and to be away from home for several days.
  • Health status meeting job requirements (Pre-employment medical evaluation, including a check for legal and illegal drugs)
  • Judicial status meeting our requirements (pre-employment criminal record check)
  • Professional dress and appearance, reliable

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Work locations: 6005 boulevard Côte-Vertu ouest, Montréal, Qc, H4S 0B1, Kuujjuaq, New Québec, 14 Inuit communities (Villages), Nunavik

Permanent full-time position

Salary of 40 hours per week

Positions on a rotational schedule (15 days of work and 13 consecutive days off per month), or a regular schedule (17 days of work and 11 non-consecutive days off) will be available depending on the initial training program.

COMPENSATION

Compensation is determined in accordance with corporate policy.

20.43/hour; overtime pay at a premium rate of $30.65/hour with a salary increase after 6 months of service.
