Since 1978, Air Inuit has been providing scheduled, charter, cargo, and emergency air transportation services in Nunavik and beyond, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Collectively owned by the Inuit of Nunavik, through the Makivvik Corporation, the airline operates a fleet of over 35 aircraft ranging from a Twin Otter 300 Series to a Boeing 737 200C, 300 and 800 and employs over 1000 employees in one of the most challenging flight environments.

ROLE OVERVIEW

Are you ready to lead our Operational Control Centre (OCC) and ensure that our flights run safely and smoothly? As the OCC Manager, you will be the backbone of our day-to-day operations, coordinating with various departments to ensure optimum efficiency. Reporting directly to the Vice-President of Flight Operations and collaborating with the Vice-President of Commercial Operations, you will ensure seamless communication and cooperation. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in the Company's Safety Management System
  • Oversee the operation to ensure that flights are planned, covered with the proper aircraft and compliant with company rules and Transport Canada regulations.
  • Coordinate and harmonize the efforts of Dispatch, Crew Control, Charters, Passenger Services and Fleet Planning.
  • Maintain, improve and publish OCC personnel procedures and ensure they are adhered to.
  • Discuss any of the problems encountered in daily operations with the appropriate supervisor and finding a solution that will suit all OCC sub-departments
  • Work closely with the maintenance team to minimize disruptions and keep our fleet in optimal condition.
  • Collaborate with the Finance Department for financial aspects.
  • Synchronise with suppliers to meet user needs and uphold contract conditions.
  • Serve as the software specialist for all OCC software, including but not limited to AIMS.
  • Managing problems raised by Flight Operations Supervisors.
  • Coordinating with the IT department to meet the needs of the OCC.
  • Support the Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) system from user accounts to day-to-day management.
  • Any other duties assigned by the Vice-President of Flight Operations or required by the operational needs of the department.

WHAT WILL MAKE YOU AN IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • A bachelor's degree in aviation management, business administration, or a related field is often preferred.
  • Excellent knowledge of AIMS software.
  • A minimum of five years of practical and technical experience in OCC management. Experience with specific airlines or aviation companies, such as Air Inuit, is a plus!
  • A solid understanding of the CARs 703, 704, and 705.
  • Proficiency in French and English, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational abilities and administrative acumen.
  • Capacity to work with minimal supervision, facilitate meetings, and provide occasional training.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and a professional attitude.
  • Familiarity with flight monitoring systems.
  • Ability to resolve operational issues and coordinate with various departments.
